Unfortunately all exercise is not created equally. We can sometimes get lucky and benefit from merely adding exercise of some type and some quantity to our lives. Just as often we waste time with that approach, and waste money. We may even be injured performing poorly chosen or badly executed exercise, and our progress goes backward.
For the last three months Form is Function instructors have taught group classes at The Nest. These classes are specifically designed to give busy moms more time. We do not burn up vital hours needed for work, preparing meals, going to medical appointments, home and child care, rest and etc. We give busy parents more time by teaching them how to move their bodies more efficiently. We also teach exercise that energizes rather than exhausts. Form is Function classes at The Nest yield more results in less time when compared with other exercise modes available in Nevada County. Our students at The Nest have learned how to make their physical lives more efficient and less painful. We do that by connecting to the ancient and powerful Russian tradition of female strength. That is why we call the
class. “Exercise and Mother Russia.”
The Eastern European and Central Asian countries have
fascinating ancient traditions of healing and health folk wisdom. They also have a huge body of modern sports science that is still mostly untapped in the West. I have studied, used and taught these modes for over fourteen years, with uniquely beneficial results for my students.
In our class at The Nest we show our students how to use simple movement, body alignment, breath, gaze, mental focus and even facial expression to maximize their bodies naturally for greater strength, safety and efficiency. This practice supports new parents by enabling them to conserve energy, get more done in less time, take stress away from existing injuries, and be less exhausted by physical work and other stress.
Form is Function starts the design of every group class, workshop or private training program with determining the desired result. What is the objective of the excercise class? What are the goals of the students? This approach is essentially unique in the United States. Most people and organizations that teach exercise modes simply teach what they know by rote, and donʼt even consider the possible needs or goals of the customer.
We are asking you now, the people who use the services at The Nest: what are your goals? What do you need? This may be difficult to answer completely because Form is Function teaches a number of unique skills you may not have considered as options. For instance our students regularly:
1. Do exercise that increases energy.
2. Get more flexible without stretching.
3. Increase strength by up to 100% in a single session.
4. Do exercises that improve immune system function.
5. Learn exercises that instantly improve emotional states.
6. Do the most effective bone density exercises ever tested. 7. Quickly reduce or eliminate pain from persistent injuries.
8. Find that exhausting physical tasks have become effortless. 9. Get more results in less time.
10. Replace physical fear with confidence.
Here are some impressions of our recent classes from our Nest students:
“Results have been very obvious from day one. Consciousness and strength are more present in my everyday movements. I feel that is very important to take care of myself now more than ever. This class is really making me feel stronger and I've just had a couple of sessions. Thank you!”
- Maria Fernanda Castaneda Zamora, mother of one year old daughter.
“Since doing the Russian training, I feel stronger, more confident, and more aware of the every day actions of my body. I have better posture, and a low pain level. I feel that I am correcting my body with this training. As a mother of a toddler I find this is an activity and exercise that I am doing for myself and it feels good. In turn he has a happier, healthier me!”
- Jamie Beer, mother of three year old son.
