JamAlong is music and movement education for 4-7 year-olds. Based on Orff-Schulwerk, classes build on what children like to do - sing, dance, clap, play, chant, create – as they learn to sing in tune, play instruments, move in rhythm, and early note reading and theory. The main approach is through play, laying the groundwork to experience music joyfully while developing the whole child with a balance of emotional and intellectual stimulation. Children experience total, active involvement in music making. Classes include songs, rhythm chants, dancing, improvisation, children's literature and poetry, creative exploration, drama and dress-up, group behavior education and instrument play - rhythm instruments from around the world, and tonal instruments such as xylophones and glockenspiels. Recorder lessons begin in 1st grade.
The program is carefully designed to encompass an academic year. This
encourages the opportunity to delve deeply into the material as well as build a bonded group of musical peers. REGISTER
