Greetings Nest Community,

After having lived and worked in Half Moon Bay for the last twenty years, I am thrilled to be living and working in these glorious foot hills.

I spent the first part of my working years as a classroom teacher, where I taught 7th through 11th grade English.  While I loved my time with kids, I found myself curious about how children learned.   I remember asking my fellow faculty members: What allowed for some children to sit and read, while other couldn’t stop for a minute?  Why were some kids sick all the time, while others were vital and flourishing?

Eventually, these questions became so loud, I decided to leave the four walls of my classroom and enter the world of medicine.  While initially my plan was to study Western medicine and get my MD, I took inventory of my life, respectively noting that I was forty, and it might be too late to start that particular journey.  Instead, I began to explore many different healing modalities; I was lucky to formally meet Chinese medicine.

I finished five years of formal schooling, received my masters in Chinese Medicine, and I hung up my shingle.  At first, my practice was dedicated to all aspects of women’s health.  But as I was treating many patients for infertility, as they became pregnant, I became versed in pregnancy and post-partum care.  And of course, as my patients had children, I started practicing pediatric medicine and NAET (an allergy elimination protocol.)

After ten years in practice, I began to feel a little limited with acupuncture and herbal medicine.   I love the power of Chinese medicine, but I had this underlying feeling like I might be missing some powerful clues in helping my patients to optimize their lives and find better balance   So back to the books, I began a study in functional medicine and completed a year long certification program.

I love what I do! Seeing one patient for a little over an hour affords me the time to pin point root causes of illness and bring the body back to balance.   I am passionate about what I do.

Feel free to reach out on any health concern.
