After the birth of my first child it was all rainbows and unicorns but after my second (and third!) it was a bit more challenging and I found myself needing a little more help. On my hardest days it helped me to know that I could find support from my own body. Encapsulating my placenta gave me a natural way to get a boost of energy when I needed it and also helped with my mood. Oh and my kids were pretty darn cute too, which helped ;)
These benefits include, but are not limited to:
- rebalance of hormones
- release of oxytocin (the love hormone)
- uterine involution (shrinking of the uterus to pre-baby size)
- boost in energy.
- replenish iron levels lost from the body after birth
- increase breast milk supply
- lessen postnatal bleeding
- reduce stress
